A prized Imperial Forgeworld that houses the most ancient secrets of the Adeptus Mechanicus is under attack by the forces of Chaos. At the tip of the Chaos invasion fleet is the Chaos Portal Ship. This impressive carrier launches countless unscrewed assault boats, smashing headlong into the Imperial fleets forming the blockade.
Within these boats are summoning circles, where the Sorcerers from the Portal Ship uses long range channeling to summon daemons from the warp. The warp creatures enter the assailed Imperial vessels and tears them apart from within. When all seemed lost, the Grey Knights intervened and landed in the Portal Ship. Although the casualties were immense, the Grey Knights were able to destroy the Portal Ship, sending its debris raining onto the planet’s surface.
The remaining Chaos forces were beaten but not broken, with many war-bands making successful landings on the planet itself. The rituals must continue if they are to successfully take the planet from the Imperials.
When the Portal Ship was destroyed, parts of the vessel rained across the sky of the Forgeworld. The warp energies residual from the falling debris landed, sparked and died…only to revive something else that has been slumbering under the soil of the planet for many thousands of years….
Rumors has it that the Necrons have arisen, tainted by the warped energies of the Portal ship.
